Morning Calvary! “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27). Isn’t it great to know we have a Father who can with confidence tell us not to be troubled or afraid but instead have His peace? The “Prince of Peace” tells us this. Memorize this verse today and boldly live it out and share it with others… I want to share a few announcements… Church services: For April we will continue on with only the live-stream. And everyone who was scheduled for worship and service-related things have the month off. I wish this was an April Fool’s…but sadly its not..absence makes the heart grow fonder. I’m looking forward to the day we are all back together, maybe instead of handshake greetings, we will do group hugs:). Just so you know what’s ahead, Craig will be preaching this Sunday and Mark Brink is scheduled for Easter Sunday. Lenten service: The last Lenten service is this Sunday and can be found on Bethel Lutheran’s Facebook page. It begins at 7:00pm and Pastor Joel Davis will be preaching on John 19:30, “It is finished”. I will open for Joel, but Calvary will not be needed to do any more than that. Offerings: Please send offerings to Calvary Baptist Church at PO Box 116. Through the CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program, there are funds for small businesses and 501c3’s (churches, Christian camps, Christian schools, etc). CBC would qualify, but we’d really like to not pursue that and let other businesses and organizations who are struggling financially to take advantage of this. The funds will run out and they are on a first/come basis. If you are struggling as a small business or know someone who is and want more information about this program, I (Brian) can direct you to some helpful information and informative videos. Pastor Dave and Tricia are home and you may have seen their email. It’s great to have them home! Keep praying for Dave’s recovery. Contact me or any of the Council members with questions or needs or suggestions as we continue on during these “distancing days”. Though we are ” 5 absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is. 6So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness (Colossians 2). Though we are absent… Our spirits are united… Delight in one another’s discipline… Delight in one another’s firm faith in Christ… Continue to live in Christ, He is Lord… Remain rooted in Him… Let this time strengthen your faith… Overflow with thankfulness! Blessings! CBC Council |
