“The Agony of the Cross” is the theme of the 2012 Joint Lenten Services.
The first service is Sunday, February 26th at the Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Dick Vesttus beginning the series by considering the Anticipation of the Cross.
Helping Hands Pantry committee members will serve a sacrificial supper from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, and on the next five Sundays, the Senior High Youth Group will serve soup and sandwiches.
The freewill offerings from all six meals will be given to the Community Youth Group for their mission trip to Mexico.
Offerings of food items will be received at each service. The Pantry item needed the first week is canned chicken or tuna.
Monetary offerings will also be received and will be used toward the counseling services provided in Platte and the cost of labor to install a new roof on the building housing Platte’s Helping Hands Food Pantry.
All services begin at 7:00 p.m. and are followed by a time of fellowship and coffee.
